Thanks for your RPD second reviews - some great poems, pictures and observations.
We met to debrief yesterday (Wednesday) and are just recovering - it was an intense couple of days at what felt like the end of a long, dark, half term!
Great discussion on the presentation assignment - we will be reviewing this - see Robin’s email on Monday. We will revisit the assessment criteria and make them fit for purpose. Your comments/assessment statements welcome - especially around the learning outcomes for AR to be found in the handbook. We agreed to make this a pass/fail element worth 2000 words - this does not suit everybody but for this time around feels like a helpful compromise. Personally I’d like to see the presentations graded but with a more focused mark grid. I’d also like to discuss other options - peer assessment, option to write 6000 words, film/blog submission, podcast, place of interaction, sense of audience - sense of the learner and learning that takes place, space for a reflective commentary…Hit the comments button!

Just a reminder to look occasionally at the ’sister’ Amsterdam Blog.
Most of the resources are similar but they are 1 year ahead so if you have a dull moment - take a peek into the future!
Happy Saturday tasks:
RPD update - check out the Second review page under RPD.
Open up this document and work through - it should be fairly self explanatory.
When you get to the section on 6 Hats you can either work through this as an interesting thinking tool (and one that develops the PMI tool you used yesterday) or scan in and attach as a PDF your PMI review from yesterday (the photocopier in the staffroom will do this - Naomi is an expert - non-St George’s students may need some assistance in sending/picking up the PDF).
If you would rather do all this tomorrow and talk to a tutor during this time - we are all yours!

Also please note a new page - Toolkit for Research under AR - this is a useful resource and reference from the NFER.

Yes - we are revving up for our next visit. It’s short, intense and sweet! You can find the programme and the Action Research module uploaded into the Your Modules pages to the right. I was hoping to have a discussion board up by now so you could post your AR topics for comments - it may still happen! Please glance through the module outline and do the linked readings before we start on Friday morning. Social when we finish on Saturday at 5.00pm - same restaurant as last October.
I’ll be at St George’s on Thursday doing poetry and performance with year 7 and 8. Robin and Erica fly in Thursday night. Two additional colleagues are also flying out - Rachel Payne our art tutor and Sarah Mossop, Education Director at Modern Art Oxford. They will be talking to Greg about the Artist Teacher Scheme - a post graduate certificate (third of a Masters degree) we are hoping to set up at St George’s next year to run alongside the MA for artist educators in the region and beyond.

Getting withdrawal symptoms? We are - had a coffee with Erica and Robin this afternoon - what a miserable looking trio we made!

Anyway - Gary has asked me to post notification of a meeting at St George’s on Saturday morning November 10th. Time to be confirmed.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss setting up a library/course support group that meets frequently - monthly at least.
It seems like a great idea and came up strongly in course committee,.
I will post you the course committee minutes as soon as I have typed them up (unconfirmed until the next meeting in February).
best wishes

Yes, it’s Saturday and you are at work but great rewards will follow from this dedication.
A new page has been added to the blog - Resources -here you will find useful docs and links. Please send me any you find and think would be good to share.

Tasks for today:
1. Check out the new Resources tab
2. Go to your blog surname.oxford-ma.net) and add a new ‘welcome’ post.
3. Go to the page called About and begin to edit and add relevant details as per page 8 in the RPD handbook, section What does it involve - a)
You may want to look at other exampes of blog approaches to this - check out phil’s old blog or Roger’s from Amsterdam MA
You will probably want to upload docs and images to enliven this so a short demo will follow!
4. Time now to look at the Brookes On-Line library - you should have some search tasks from Erica or Robin to follow up once we are all logged in.
5. Keep working on About Me until you have around 200 words by way of an introduction - link to a CV if you have one available - remind me to mention passwording personal infomation!
